What it does

Link makes the Beepy and a pair of G2 glasses work as one computer. The Beepy has the keyboard; the glasses have the display in front of your eyes and the phone's GPS behind them. The two devices never talk to each other directly. Both talk to a hub, a Cloudflare Worker with one private channel per pairing.

Pair

  1. Open Link on the Beepy and press p. It shows a six character code, good for ten minutes and one use.
  2. On your phone, open the Penny app's page and type the code.
  3. Link shows paired, and when the glasses were last seen.

sSend saved places now.
rPull location, marks and saved headlines now. This also runs every minute while paired.
uUnpair: retire the channel and mint a new one. The glasses need a new code.

Privacy

Text passes through the hub in plaintext over HTTPS, and the long random channel id is the credential. Typed text lives only in memory and is gone within ten minutes; the note on the Beepy is the only lasting copy. Retention for everything else is in the privacy policy. To use your own hub, set link_url.

About the glasses app

Penny, the G2 half, is distributed separately from PennyOS and is not yet published. Link does nothing without it, apart from locating by network.
