Fieldbook

Nine instruments for wherever you are standing, read from public feeds.

v0.4.0 for G2. Latest release 13 Sep 2026.

An illustration of the 576 by 288 glasses canvas, drawn from the app's display code. Not a capture: the names and numbers are examples.

What it does

Fieldbook puts the weather, the air, the sky, nearby earthquakes and the country you are in on your G2 glasses, one screen at a time. It also lists the places around you, the embassies, stations, pharmacies and water within reach, and the surveillance cameras someone has mapped. Every number comes from a free public feed, so there is no account and no server of its own.

  • Weather, air quality and the sky: temperature, wind, pressure trend and UV, US AQI with PM2.5, PM10, ozone and NO2, sunrise, sunset, moon phase, and how far away the International Space Station is.
  • Ground: the largest earthquake of magnitude 2.5 or more within 500 miles in the last day, how far away it was and in which direction, and how many there were.
  • Brief: the country your position falls in, with its currency and live rate against the dollar, the emergency number, driving side, plug, voltage and calling code, from a built in table of 55 countries.
  • Places: the street you are on and up to 12 named places within 400 m, nearest first, paged with a click. Meant for reading at a table, not at a glance.
  • Nearby and Watch: sanctuary, egress, comms and basics within 1200 m on a north up plot, and the surveillance cameras mapped in OpenStreetMap, which is not the same as the cameras actually there.
  • Signals: which feeds answered, which failed, and whether your position is a real fix or the fallback.

Requirements

Even Realities G2 glasses and the Even Realities app 2.2.9 or later, with location access allowed. Every screen except the sun and moon times needs a data connection. English only.

Changelog

  1. 0.4.0

Every call to the glasses now waits its turn in one queue, so a picture is never sent over another half finished one. Dimmed text uses the lowest brightness level, because the old one looked the same as full brightness on the glasses. A scroll right after changing screens is no longer swallowed.

  2. 0.3.1

Fixed the picture sometimes staying on the previous screen after a scroll. The art now follows the unit setting, so distances and rings read in feet and miles or metres and kilometres.

  3. 0.3.0

Three new screens: Brief, Nearby and Watch. Signals now covers every feed. Long press refreshes everything. The menu is the unit toggle plus a jump to each screen, and double click exits.

  4. 0.2.0

Added Places, a sit down screen that says where you are and pages through the named places within 400 m.
