What it does
Breadcrumb saves the spot you are on with a press and hold, then tells you how far away it is and whether that number is falling. The G2 has no compass, so it never draws an arrow that could be wrong. Marking and walking back work with no signal at all, and a street map fills the other half of the display when there is one.
- Saves your current spot when you press and hold the touchpad. The mark is named after the time, and you can rename it on the phone screen.
- Shows the distance to the selected mark and whether you are getting closer, farther, or holding. The trend is checked against GPS drift, so it does not flip while you stand still.
- Says "You are here" only within 15 metres on a good fix. On a poor fix it says "within" a distance instead, and if location stops updating it says how long ago the fix was lost.
- Draws a street map on the right half of the display, turned to your direction of travel while you walk and north up when you stop. The header names the street you are on.
- Scroll switches between up to 20 marks. A one item menu on the glasses deletes the selected mark, and the phone screen shows every mark on a small map.
- Uses feet and miles or metres and kilometres, following your phone's language and region settings.
Requirements
Even Realities G2 glasses and the Even Realities app 2.2.9 or later, with location access allowed. The maps and street names need a data connection. Marking and walking back do not.
Changelog
- 0.6.0
Dim text is dimmer, because the old level looked the same as normal text on the glasses. Every update to the display now goes out one at a time, and switching marks redraws the map right away instead of waiting for the next fix.
- 0.5.0
The glasses map is drawn from OpenFreeMap road data, after the previous map source started stamping its tiles with a watermark. The header shows the street you are on, and the mark shows its nearest cross street. The footer no longer wraps off screen with two or more marks.
- 0.4.0
Press and hold drops a mark. A menu on the glasses deletes one and confirms it. Text dims when the fix goes stale. Requires Even Realities app 2.2.9 or later.
- 0.3.0
A map on the right half of the glasses, turned the way you are walking and north up when you stop. It zooms out to keep the mark in view. With no signal that half stays dark and nothing else changes.
